“You cannot claw your way to the top of a company. In any culture in humanity, if self-interest is greater than the larger interest, the system will not allow you to progress. If you raise your head for the wrong reason, the system will chop your head off. "- Sawan Kapoor

Everything Else:

+Dior dressed the rich, but Balenciaga dressed the very rich. Women graduated from Dior to Balenciaga. Christian Dior and Coco Chanel considered him to be the greatest and most original couturier in history. Dior was a designer, but Balenciaga demonstrated versatility by being able to design, cut, and finish his products by hand. His mother taught him the trade, and he kicked off his career by designing a cat’s collar. In 2021, Balenciaga made USD 2 billion in revenue.

+I made mistakes early in my life by not accurately judging the character and reliability of other people. I was better at evaluating data than individuals.

+A quote to think about: “There’s no magic formula for great company culture. The key is just to treat your staff how you would like to be treated.”  - Richard Branson, Founder of Virgin Group.
